Peacefully, on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home with her family by her side. Loving wife of 30 years to the late John Postol and beloved mother of Dr. Barbara Ann Postol and Linda Marie Postol, Esq. Daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Wintermantel and preceded in death by her siblings; Charles (Sally), Diane, and Warren Wintermantel. In addition to her daughters, Barbara is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a talented cook and baker who enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas. She was employed as a baker at the former A&P Bakery in East Liberty for many years. She made the best Christmas cookies and nut rolls. Barbara loved animals; her granddogs, Reuben and Peter, brought her great joy. Throughout her life, she welcomed many animals into her home. She had a beautiful smile and always helped anyone she could. She had a generous heart.
Most of all, Barbara was born to be a mother. Her daughters were her greatest pride and their happiest times were spent together. Barbie and Linda loved her more than anything and were privileged to have her as their mother. She will be remembered by her daughters as a brave, hard-working, humble, and kind woman, who along with their father, serves as their inspiration. Barbara is forever loved, treasured, and deeply missed.
Viewing is private. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Angels in Hays on Tuesday, December 2, at 10:30 followed by interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, in Barbara’s memory, please show mercy to a person or animal in need.
