Jean C. (Muraca) Capaccio, age 85, of Pittsburgh, died peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2012. She married Joseph Capaccio in 1952, and enjoyed 51 happy years with him. Survived by her son Vito (Adrienne Sempr); daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina Muraca of Homestead; sister of the late Mary Goettel, Carmen and Frank Muraca, Betty DeFerio; sister-in-law of the late Carmela Capaccio; also survived by nieces and nephews. She was known as the "Candy Lady" for her many years of selling Candy at Gimbels. Jean worked until July 2011 as the Front Store Greeter at Giant Eagle, Village Square. She was a member of UFCW local 23. Visitation Monday 2-9 p.m. at the JOHN J. GMITER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 119 S. 15th St., South Side. Funeral Mass in St. Paul of the Cross Monastery, South Side, Tuesday, 10 a.m. Burial at St. Michaels, Prince of Peace Cemetery.
