Marlene Piesetzkie, 85, of the South Side Flats passed away on March 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Skrzydlewski, and her mother, Viola (Kleba) Skrzydlewski. For nearly 60 years, Marlene was the wife of the late Joseph Piesetzkie and mother of the late Joseph Piesetzkie, Jr. She is survived by her brother-in-law Girard Kuehn, Sr., husband of her late sister Barbara “Bobby”; nephew Girard Kuehn, Jr., his wife Joyce and their children Girard III, Amanda, and Jesse; niece Debra (Kuehn) Weber and her children Stephen and Kelly. Marlene worked in the South Side at Bards restaurant alongside her beloved mother Viola Laskey, and most recently before her retirement, at The 1889 Café on East Carson Street. She especially enjoyed going to the casino and hosting her family at her home during the holidays. Later in life, Marlene enjoyed container gardening at her home. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the JOHN J GMITER FUNERAL HOME, 119 S 15th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. Funeral mass will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10 am at Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church.
