Mary Jane Bendick Obituary

Mary Jane Bendick, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 19, 2021 at the Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Community Abundant Life Center where she resided for the past 11 years and which she called home.  Mary Jane was born in Pittsburgh on October 4, 1935 and lived on the South Side where she raised her family and was a loving and giving mother. She worked as a hairdresser, in catering, and as a kitchen assistant. She enjoyed walking her dog, singing, playing and calling bingo and especially helping others in need. Above all, she loved meeting and engaging with others and all knew her wherever she went. Her most memorable attribute was her infectious smile and sweet spirit and it will be deeply missed.  Mary Jane is survived by her son Jeffrey (Rhonda) Bendick of Brookline, PA; daughter Michelle (Richard) Craig of Ellwood City, PA; grandsons Jeffrey and David Bendick.   She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Bendick.  Private visitation and service will be held at Passavant Community in the Lutheran SeniorLife Abundant Life Center in the Seaman Memorial Chapel on Thursday December 23, 2021 from 1 pm to 2 pm with service at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation.  Include a note with your gift naming who you wish to honor and who should be notified of the donation.
