Husband of Janet (Stapinski) Ondos; father of Mark Ondos and Eric (Jill) Ondos; son of the late John and Anna Ondos; brother of John and Joseph Ondos and Mary Jane Huggins; grandfather of Alexander Michael and Abagail Mari.



Friends received at the JOHN J. GMITER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 119 South 15th St., South Side, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Panachida Services on Friday evening.

Mike graduated from Snowden High School in 1955, was part of the winning WPIAL D-Title football team. Mike went on to the Virginia Military Institute, where he was part of VMI'S undefeated and 13th Ranked football team of 1957. After graduating in 1960, Mike went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard in Puerto Rico, where he also coached a Catholic basketball team. Mike was very dedicated to his Byzantine Catholic faith and his church. He enjoyed studying and traveling to Slovakia with his family to visit with friends and relatives. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren
