Thomas J. Mathews, Sr. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, of Baldwin. Beloved husband of Irene (Czornij) Mathews; father of Deborah (Andrew) Kres; and Thomas J. (Lisa) Mathews, Jr.; brother of Frances Gable, Verna Karchut, and the late Robert L. Mathews; grandfather of Megan and Tyler Kresl; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Mathews was a retired mechanic with 30 years of service at Baldwin Whitehall School District. Friends received at John J. Gmiter Funeral Home Ltd., 119 South 15th Street, South Side, on Friday from 1pm-9pm. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9am. Funeral Service in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10am. Parastas on Friday evening at 7pm.
